I Need Feminism - The Tide has Turned

Patrice over at Rural Revolution posted a discussion about a recent article relating to some Liberal professor or other having students pose for pictures like you see above.

The article entitled "I need feminism photo campaign" was published on MSN. It's pretty singularly composed of the same old cliche myths, fabrications and flat out lies about the "bad old days" when us real men could simply make women do as we wanted by raising our voice and if one of them didn't work out we could go buy a new one at the local arranged marriage store pretty cheap. Women of course back then were not allowed property and could only wear what we men wanted them to because us guys have nothing better to do then pick out their cloths and direct them like a sock puppet all day.

Women couldn't vote of course, neither could most men unless they owned property, which almost always came with marriage if it came at all. Women were never listened to. Except for the many Judges and other professional women that somehow never seem to be counted by today's feminist.

Oh and social rules? I love the way Feminist today blame men for all these social rules women supposedly had to suffer through because men were so oppressive. Funny thing is I had the privilege of being a young male while some of these social rules were still observed and enforced and ya know what? I never saw the men standing around being the enforcers of these rules 99% of the time. The ones you had to circumvent were always the old matriarchs. Those social rules women find so distasteful were mostly made up by the older women not the men. I think it's pretty easy to figure out why the older women didn't want the younger ones running around unleashed but I will let you figure that one out for yourselves. I will say that no man I know of short of a particular woman's father ever found breaking the "rules" distasteful by and large.

The reason I am bringing this particular article and more importantly Patrice's post up today is because of another real change I am seeing and one that gives me particular hope.

Check out the comments in each link above. Then realize that two things immediately stand out.

One neither of these articles are from a Mens' Rights organization. Rural Revolution is a blog by a woman and mostly for a certain segment of the female population and almost always written from a refreshingly female perspective. To see feminism bashed from another genre is in my mind proof that the tide is turning.

Secondly is the comments at either place. To see anti-feminist comments in such numbers and from women as well as men is another mile post. Even five or six years ago most people were afraid to speak out against feminism but today.... well I let you be the judge.

I guess you could say "We've come a long way baby"

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!

  1. To my mind its another example of why you really don't want to go around and ask the man or woman on the street to articulate any sort of political position. The drivel you get back is absolutely frightening, regardless of which side of the fence they are on. People don't seem to have any compunction to think through any of their belief systems before embarrassingly spouting out off about them.

    1. I can't argue with that observation at all Russ.

Your pretty much spot on. The problem is we allow these types to vote.
